It will soon begin…  Two weeks of exotic travel, to a latitude I have never been to before.  I’m hoping to be inspired; to see whales and puffins, observe a grizzly bear (from an appropriately safe distance), perhaps have some salmon that would make me feel like I paid top dollar (although considering how much this cruise, plane tickets, and excursions cost, I guess I already did).  As I know how this works, I thought that this was my best method of getting information to the masses.  Mostly because my other options are spending money and lugging around photo books for four straight weeks, making everyone I see for those four weeks squint at my camera screen, or filling up the memory of my phone to wind up posting one or two pictures on Facebook.  Yeah, didn’t sound like great options to me either.

So follow along as Melissa and I travel to the Great (usually) White North.  We’ll start out in Fairbanks, then travel south to Denali National Park.  After that, we will take a train to Talkeetna, outside of Mt. McKinley for an evening, then head to the Kenai Peninsula for a few days.  Our next stop will be Anchorage to board the Coral Princess and head through the Inside Passage with stops at the Hubbard Glacier, Glacier Bay National Park, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Juneau.  We will end up in Vancouver, where we will take a bus to Seattle to meet up with one of my high school friends and her family.  After a few days there, we will head back to Florida and our usual reality.

My goal is to post daily, at least while we are in Alaska.  Hoping to put up some pictures, maybe some videos if I a) remember to film and b) don’t run into horrible lag times.  We’ll see how it works out, but hey, at least I have a goal!
